Matches Next Year / Swindon Town

Hi all,

A few items for action - in what is hopefully my last message of the year!

Matches Next Year

I have updated the Fixtures list http://www.borrowdale.eclipse.co.uk/Fixtures.htm to show the matches for next year.

Thank you to the 5 people who have already told me their availability - but I still need to hear from everyody else.  As soon as possible after Christmas please - especially regarding the match on 10 January.

Postponed Matches

The updated Fixtures list now includes the Fairford match postponed from 20 December - this will now be played on 21 February.  I have kept the team selection / captain as before - but will need you to confirm that you are still available.

I will do the same thing with the other two postponed matches (currently grey) as soon as they are re-scheduled.

Shin Pads

Referees have been asked to check that all players are wearing shin pads.  No shin pads = No football!  (This also applies to training sessions.)

Swindon Town

Extract from the recent newsletter... now the dates are finalised.

A few years ago the Club organised a couple of trips to Swindon Town, for their Saturday Club. This package allows local youth football teams to come and spend a day at the County Ground.

On arrival the team is greeted by the Community Office staff before a comprehensive tour of the County Ground, getting the chance to have a look behind the scenes at all of the match day preparations.

The children then take part in an 80-minute professional coaching session on the Astroturf at St Joseph's, followed by a pre-match lunch. Seats are then taken in the Arkell's Stand to watch the players warm-up, before sitting back to watch the first team in action.

There are two alternative dates that the Club has been offered:

6 February 2010: STFC v Charlton Athletic

20 March 2010: STFC v Norwich City

The cost of the trip is £20 for children and £20 for any accompanying adults.

Please use the tear-off slip below (E-mail reply is OK at this late stage - David) to indicate your preference and let your Team Manager have the slip back before Christmas. There is no need to return any money yet, as this will be collected when the details are confirmed (assuming sufficient numbers) early in the new year.

I have not had any replies yet.  If you are interested in either date, please let me know a.s.a.p.

Happy Christmas!

Finally, have a great Christmas and all the best for 2010.

David
